Experience the essence of tradition and refinement with Calados del Puntido, a distinguished red wine crafted from 100% Tempranillo grapes. With its rich character and vibrant nuances, this wine embodies the epitome of Spanish winemaking excellence.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Discover aromas of ripe fruits accompanied by subtle hints of spice and balsamic notes, enticing the senses with its complexity and depth.

  • Palate: Indulge in a palate that is fresh, fleshy, and well-balanced, offering a lively interplay of flavors and a satisfying, lingering finish.

Origin:

  • Village: Cultivated in the renowned Viñedos de Páganos, nestled in Páganos-Laguardia, where the terroir reflects a unique blend of clayey loam and calcareous-clay soils, imparting distinct characteristics to the grapes.

  • Slope Face: Positioned at an altitude of 600 meters, the vineyards benefit from optimal sun exposure and drainage, fostering the ideal conditions for grape cultivation.

  • Soil Type: The soil composition consists of clayey loam with a clayey-limestone base, enriched by a sandstone subsoil, contributing to the wine's depth and complexity.

Vinification:

  • Harvest: Carefully handpicked from vines planted between 1973 and 1975, ensuring low yields and high-quality fruit.

  • Fermentation: Employing traditional methods, the grapes undergo pre-fermentative maceration with indigenous yeast for four days, followed by gentle barrel aging in French oak for 16 months. The wine matures in a blend of new and second-wine French oak barrels, where it undergoes malolactic fermentation, enhancing its structure and flavor profile.

Ageing Potential: Embrace the wine's ageing potential, allowing it to evolve gracefully over time.

Serving Temperature: Serve at an optimal temperature of 16-17°C to fully appreciate its vibrant flavors and nuanced complexity.

Food Pairing:

Pair Calados del Puntido with grilled meats, savory tapas, or aged cheeses to elevate your dining experience and savor the wine's rich, balanced character.
